London School Board

The caption reads, "LONDON'S SCHOOL BOARD: The lady members are prominent, including Mrs. Surr, who is speaking, Miss Helen Taylor, and Mrs. Fenwick-Miller. Mrs. Westlake is an earnest champion of what Mrs. Fenwick-Miller has dubbd "the official ring." Miss Muller and Miss Simcox are both good workers on the Board, and Miss R. Davenport Hill, Mrs. Webster, and Miss Richardson are quiet helpers." (1882)
Nominated by the Westminster Democratic Club, Simcox was elected to the London School Board in November, 1879. She represented the Radicals, writing reports, serving on subcommittees, and visiting schools in London, Leicester, and Birmingham.
