Review of Hector Avalos’s book The End of Biblical Studies (Prometheus Books, 2007). Serialized on Higgaion.

I serve as a "back translation evaluator" for the World Bible Translation Center, based in Fort Worth, Texas. I am currently evaluating the back-translation of the Romanian version of 2 Kings.

Recently Completed

“Penitent to a Fault,” a critical study critical of Psalm 51 when read as David’s confession after Nathan confronted him about the whole Bathsheba-Uriah complex of incidents.

Review of Eric Christianson’s Ecclesiastes through the Centuries (Routledge, 2006). Reviewed in The Bible and Critical Theory, forthcoming.
